MOPS – Because Mothering Matters. Mothers of children ages 0-6 are welcome to join this fun and relevant group of women. September is our registration drive, but moms are welcome to join at any time of the year. Our members include moms from Riverview, as well as moms from around the Fallbrook, Bonsall, and Oceanside communities. The desire to connect with other moms who are at a similar stage in parenting brings most women to MOPS for the first time. Through the prayerful efforts of leaders and mentors, moms find what they are looking for — and more!
MOPS moms are encouraged through prayer support, an accepting atmosphere, quality care for their children and infants, fun crafts and demonstrations, and a lively brunch. Speaker topics ranging from child and baby care to marriage and money management keep the morning practical, worthwhile, and entertaining.
Meetings generally take place the 1st and 3rd Thursdays each month, from September through May. Childcare opens at 9:00, and the brunch begins at 9:15. Contact the church for registration information or just show up! Materials will be available Thursday morning to register you and your children.
MOPS and our Riverview Family
At Riverview, MOPS is a bridge to the women of our community. This is a place for moms of young children to invite unsaved friends and neighbors — knowing they will be loved and accepted through relationships with other moms who are at similar stages in parenting. This is also a place where saved moms can challenge themselves to grow in Christian leadership by serving the women in our group.
The Lord has led several families to Riverview through the outreach of MOPS. Trained leaders and mentors use lifestyle evangelism to connect with each mom in an authentic way: valuing her first as a woman and a mother in order to build a trusting relationship where the full message of hope in Christ can be shared.
You can support MOPS in several ways: volunteering in our children’s program; serving as a mentor; sharing a skill or talent through a demonstration or craft; serving as a speaker with a practical or spiritual topic; praying for our mentors, our leaders, and our moms; inviting a young mom you know to enjoy the benefits of MOPS.
