The Chosen Lamb of God!

Mar 29, 2026    Pastor Mel Svendsen

This exploration of Palm Sunday reveals the profound truth that God's salvation plan unfolds with perfect precision. We discover that when Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey, He wasn't simply arriving as a teacher or prophet—He was fulfilling ancient prophecies as the Lamb of God on Lamb Selection Day. Just as Jewish families would select a lamb four days before Passover, growing attached to it before the sacrifice, Jesus presented Himself as the ultimate Passover Lamb. The sermon walks us through the Passion Week, from Palm Sunday through the resurrection, showing how every detail—from the specific donkey that had never been ridden to the crowd's spontaneous worship quoting Psalm 118—was orchestrated by divine sovereignty. What makes this message especially powerful is the emphasis on Jesus' worthiness: His life has infinite value because He is God in flesh, which means His death can pay for an infinite amount of sin. We're challenged to recognize that if Jesus knew such intimate details about a donkey, how much more does He know about every circumstance in our lives? This isn't just historical reflection—it's an invitation to trust that the same God who controlled every element of His own passion is sovereign over our present struggles and future hopes.
