Forgiven!!!
What does it mean to truly be forgiven? In this powerful exploration of Luke 5:17-26, we journey into one of the most dramatic moments in Jesus's ministry, where four determined friends tear open a roof to lower their paralyzed companion into the presence of Christ. The scene is vivid and urgent, but the most striking moment is not the healing itself. It is what Jesus says first: 'Your sins are forgiven.' Before addressing the visible, physical need, Jesus reaches into the deeper, invisible one. This passage invites us to ask a searching question about our own lives: have we identified and addressed our greatest need? The lesson challenges us to recognize that physical suffering, financial struggle, and relational pain, as real and heavy as they are, are temporary. Sin, by contrast, carries eternal consequences. The story of the paralyzed man becomes a mirror for our own condition, reminding us that the most urgent journey any of us can make is the one that brings us into the presence of Jesus, no matter what obstacles stand in the way.
