Marriage God's Way

This powerful exploration of biblical marriage challenges us to reconsider everything we think we know about marital relationships. Drawing from 1 Peter 3:1-7 and foundational passages in Genesis, we're invited to discover that marriage hasn't failed—it simply hasn't been tried God's way. The message unpacks three Greek words for love: eros (sexual), phileo (friendship), and agape (unconditional), revealing that godly marriage must be built on the foundation of agape love, the same selfless love Christ demonstrated for us. The relational triangle presented shows how marriages built on physical attraction alone are easily toppled, while those constructed on spiritual connection, deepened by friendship, and culminating in physical intimacy create lasting bonds. We may think we're following biblical principles, but pride, unforgiveness, and cultural influences cause us to miss the mark. The call to servant leadership for husbands and supportive partnership for wives isn't about inequality but about complementary roles that reflect equal dignity and worth. When we humble ourselves, release bitterness, and commit to doing marriage according to the Creator's design rather than cultural redefinitions, we discover that marriage becomes the wonderful gift God always intended it to be.
