God our Father and Judge!

Nov 2, 2025    Pastor Mel Svendsen

This message invites us into a profound understanding of God's dual nature as both our intimate Father and our perfect Judge. Drawing from 1 Peter 1:17-21, we're reminded that we have direct access to God—we can cry out 'Abba, Father' with the familiarity of a child calling to their dad. Yet this same God operates with flawless wisdom as an impartial judge who always makes the right decision. The central truth here is that we were ransomed not with silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish. This wasn't a cosmic accident or a plan gone wrong—it was ordained before the foundation of the world. The message challenges us to rest in God's perfect judgment, knowing He will always do the right thing even when we don't understand. We're called to live lives that glorify Him, not out of fear of condemnation, but out of reverence for His holiness. The judgment discussed isn't about punishment for believers—our sins are wiped away—but about rewards for works done in Christ's name. When we build our lives with gold, silver, and precious stones rather than wood, hay, and straw, we're investing in eternal significance. Our worth isn't found in possessions or status, but in the infinitely valuable blood that purchased us.
