Each Monday, before our program formally starts, we have a food and fellowship time starting at 6:30.
What is Refuge Recovery 12 Step?
The name tells a story: we are a safe place for people to seek recovery from destructive thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors using the 12 steps in a Christ-centered approach. It  is a ministry designed to help hurting people and made up of regular folks like you and me, who are on a journey toward wholeness; seeking recovery and God's healing. Trained leaders provide safe, confidential, Christ-centered groups where people can grow. We believe that change is possible by the power of Jesus through this Biblical program.
Christ-Centered
Our 12-step approach identifies Christ as our one true higher power. Our core teaching and study materials are from proven Christ-centered programs, primarily Life Recovery and Celebrate Recovery®. The Bible is our foundational source book and and underlies the 12 steps and all our teaching. We sometimes reference materials from more secular 12 steps programs such as AA, NA, or SA but only in a context of biblical teaching.
Regardless of your particular issue or combination of issues, healing is possible by applying the 12 steps to your life!

Meetings
We meet at Riverview on Mondays and Fridays from 7 - 9 pm .
Follow the signs and drive around the church building into the lower parking lot where you'll see our open door.
  • On Monday, the first hour is a worship and teaching time and, for the second hour, we break into small discussion groups, separated by gender. For newcomers there is a newcomer's orientation available.  Participants deal with a wide variety of issues from addiction (substance, gambling, sex) to codependency, anger, and abuse. There is always a men's "all issues" group and a women's "all issues" group. Depending on attendance, we break into out specific issue groups such as substance abuse or  sexual addiction.
  • On Friday, our format is more of a traditional 12 step group but still Christ-centered. We have a brief lesson on a topic from the 12 steps followed by a time of sharing. While the emphasis on Friday is on chemical dependency (drugs and alcohol), all are welcome regardless of your issue.
